Meis Salameh is the founder of Shams Experience Center and Consultancy. Bringing together more than 13 years of professional experience, most of which is in the banking sector (Finance and Compliance), but also includes working in the NGO sector, advocating for Financial Education and Financial Inclusion in the Middle East and North Africa region. She has a bachelor in Economics specialized in banking and Insurance, a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) since 2011 and has an MBA degree form Nyenrode Business Universiteit. Meis completed many projects and assignments within the financial sector including banks such as Syria gulf bank, Arab bank Syria, ING bank , Rabobank, MUFG Bank Europe ,Mizuho Bank Europe, Commonwealth Bank of Australia Europe, and (former)LeasePlan Corporation . Meis has an entrepreneurial spirit and motivated by challenging and innovative projects that aims at adopting to the constant changes in the business and social scenes. When not working, her time is spent on sports and getting engaged in music, art and cultural activities.
Bob Smagge: Currently working for Royal Philips NV as Compliance, Safety, Regulatory and Quality Support, Bob Smagge started his professional career as a civil servant at Agentschap Telecom, a market surveillance authority (MSA) of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. O.a. he dealt with product compliance, product safety, consumer safety risk assessment and (potential) product recalls. After several years – holding a LLB International & European Law – he switched to the corporate world, becoming the Regulatory Affairs Manager at the European HQ of LG Electronics. Still being involved with product compliance and safety his field of work and oversight then expanded to incident / non-compliance root cause analysis, hazard based safety risk assessment (HBSRA), product liability (mitigation and litigation) and liaising with national MSAs within Europe and MENA (Middle East and North Africa). The other half of the time was earmarked for regulatory analysis and representing and lobbying for the company at several national, global and EU trade associations and institutions. Nowadays Bob – besides working at Philips – spends his time on product compliance consultancy for SMEs and startups. Projects Bob is proud of includes working with Ministry of Economic Affairs, LG Electronics, DIGITAL EUROPE, CEO Coalition- EU Commission and CEO Coalition-EU commission.
